Site Supervisor Job Application

Motivation, enthusiasm and a commitment to providing customers with the best carwash experience is key to this role. Freo's Carwash Cafe is located at Reservoir Road in Cairns. We're looking for a supervisor who is an energetic person with a degree of common sense and the ability to lead. Experience in the carwash industry is not essential. Our dream candidate would be able to:

  • Honest, reliable, punctual and friendly

  • Energetic person with strong work ethic - Must work efficiently, fast & quick!

    • Have the ability to maintain a high level of physical labour, day in day out (most days we are busy working all day with minimal breaks)

  • Attention to detail - fast is important, but cleaning to high standards is more important. Always holding high standards is crucial.

  • Experience in cleaning vehicles is a bonus but not essential – strong attention to detail is though as we must do a great job on cleaning cars.

  • Have the capability and/or experience of supervising a crew of up to 15 staff a day.

  • Strong client relations skills - dealing with all types of customers on a daily basis.

  • Quick learner with the ability to adjust to changes quickly.

  • Able to work under a high pace and high stressed environment.

  • Able to be told what to do and follow instructions.

  • Common sense - able to problem solve and think for yourself.

  • Have a general interest in business and pushing hard to achieve goals.

We're ultimately looking for a good person with the right attitude who simply loves getting in and getting a job done. Just for clarity – this is no office job, running a car wash is super active so it's critical that you can handle doing physical work all day when needed.  

Daily roles on site are:

  • Responsible for the day to day running and operation of the site.

  • Cleaning and detailing of vehicles.

  • Continual management of staff including quality control and staff training.

  • Serving customers and quoting of cleans/details.

  • Dealing with occasional customer issues that may arise throughout their time on site.

  • Final quality checking offs on customers cars and seeing off customers.

  • Driving and presenting cars to customers in our valet area.

  • Setting up site ready each morning for operation as well as site pack up at end of day.

  • Management of chemicals and other inventory.

  • General cleaning and maintenance of all equipment, grounds and facility.

  • Admin roles such as answering phone, rosters, chemical orders, staff reviews, answering emails, updating tasks and completing daily checklists. 

Constant training and on the job support in relation to the daily operations and supervision role will be provided. Although you would work side by side with the owner daily, for big parts of the day the site would ultimately be your responsibility so experience in the above is crucial.

Note: This is a full-time job (around 38 - 45 hours per week) which includes work on either a Saturday and/or a Sunday. You'll be required to have the ability to work in Australia and hold a FULL manual Australian Drivers License.
