Our Story
The now known Cairns Carwash Café located at 27 Reservoir Road was established in January 2006. Kim and Paul Freebody identified an opportunity to service the Cairns community of washing the family car in a safe environment.
Since opening, the Freebody family has washed cars from as far north as the Cape York Peninsula, as west as Broome and to as south as Hobart. As part of their vision, Kim and Paul identified the need to wash Cairns growing population of cars in a sustainable way to protect the wonders that surround the region. It is the sustainable choice to wash your car at Cairns Carwash Café.
From Jan 2006 until 1 October 2017, the car wash had transformed and developed significantly with the biggest development taking place on 1 October 2017. In October 2017, Kim and Paul sold the previously known Five Star Carwash Café to their three sons (Daniel, Nathan and Trent) as Freo’s Carwash Cafe.
In March 2021 in a relaunch of the business since COVID-19 the name changed from Freo’s Carwash Cafe to Cairns Carwash Cafe along with opening a second site of our other business Northern Detailers. Cairns Carwash Cafe is focused on the car cleaning side of things where Northern Detailers is more focused on the detailing of cars (shampoo, cut and polishing, etc). Both businesses trade side by side at our location 27 Reservoir Road, Manoora 4870.
Daniel 30, Nathan 27 and Trent 25 have and will continued to developed the site to improve customers experience. It is our pledge in everything we do to

We believe we currently deliver and will continue to deliver on this pledge and really give customers a fantastic experience every time you visit us. Experience gained from our parents during our upbringing, working in the corporate world and from running previous successful businesses, including Cairns Carwash Cafe over the past few years, is why we believe we are the best.
